Halloween Princesses

Last night, Brooke, Alyssa, and I headed to Magic Kingdom, for round 2 of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  We all dressed as different princesses,  Brooke as Belle, Alyssa as Rapunzel, and me as Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), but very few people could figure out who I was.  Disappointing!

We did our usual round of grabbing as much candy as possible, and stopped to meet some friends in between!

We grabbed some snacks, and snagged a spot to watch the fireworks.  Holiday party fireworks are always special, and we knew from last time that HalloWishes would really deliver.
We couldn't leave the party without making one last pit stop.  What's the point of dressing up like a princess, without a photo-op with the ladies themselves?!

Definitely another successful Halloween Party!  Hoping to go to one more before the switch to the Christmas parties!
Boo to you!

It's Not So Very Scary

Last night, I got to attend Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party for the first time.  In preparation, I decorated buckets for my roommates for trick or treating!
I went with Brooke, Alyssa, Brittany, and Ashley.  We each dressed as a minion, Minnie Mouse, Rapunzel, Snow White, and hipster Buzz Lightyear.
We met the boss man first, as we usually do.  Then we headed into the park, meeting princesses (who were actually with their princes!), and getting lots and lots of candy.  They also had a limited edition candy corn soft serve.  Alyssa and I split one, and even though it was too sweet to finish, it was super yummy and festive!
We headed back to Main Street to catch the second showing of the Boo to You Parade, and got a great spot right in front of the castle.  They had lots of characters in the parade with Halloween costumes on!  I just know that music is going to be stuck in my head for days.  The best part of the parade, besides the candy being thrown into the crowd, was the gravediggers.  The gravediggers were in the part of the parade that was Haunted Mansion themed.  They had metal shovels, and as they were moving along the parade route, dancing and singing, they had incorporated scraping their shovels along the pavement, creating a shower of sparks.  It was such a neat effect, especially along the fairly dark parade route!
Immediately following the end of the parade, we turned around and rushed to the front of the castle, to await the start of the Villains Castle Show, which started in 10 minutes.  Again, a great spot!  The show featured Dr. Facillier, Queen of Hearts, Malificent, Cruella DeVille, and Captain Hook.  It was hilarious to see them all dancing together.  Worlds colliding!  It was another great performance, with more catchy music and great effects.
As the show ended, we made our way back to circling treat stations and wandering the park.  We even hit a dance party with Woody, Jessie, and Bullseye (which I SUPER SADLY don't have pictures of).  We only had a bit of time before fireworks started, so we headed back again to Main Street, to get a spot.
The HalloWishes Fireworks were one of the best I've ever seen.  They even had them around the perimeter of the park, so it was very different!
The Halloween Party was so much fun, and I'm already excited to go again!
Boo to you, you and you!

Pastries, Princesses, and Pachyderms

The past couple days have been crazy.  I've worked in various workshops, and classes, and training seminars since Sunday.  So much detailed information has been thrown my way, my brain feels like a waterlogged sponge!  I can officially check guests in and out, exchange foreign currency, send messages or faxes, charge accounts, take multiple payments, use the lodging system, refund payments, perform adjustments, enter room requests, change travel dates, take special requests, enter special occasion information, and little extra magic moments.  It's been so much learning!
That being said, I have managed to have a bit of fun after I'd get home from stuffing my mind of hospitality lessons. One night, I went out with some girls from my class.  We went to Port Orleans: French Quarter, and split some beignets.  They were so fluffy and tasty, and they had made them fresh, just for us!
Two nights ago, Alyssa and Brittany were meeting up with somebody at Buffalo Wild Wings, so Brooke and I decided to meet up with them there, after we made a necessary Walmart run.  We hurried over, and walked in, looking for their table.  We wandered around and around, and when I finally called Brittany, it turns out we went to the wrong location!  By that time, it was already 9pm, so we decided to just stay and eat.  We lucked out, and there was a guy doing balloon animals there.  He made us princess crowns, it was too funny!
Last night, once the girls and I were all home, we made a trip out to Magic Kingdom for the evening.  It had been raining lots yesterday, so the park was super empty!  We were able to walk right on to Dumbo, Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, The Little Mermaid, and Small World.  No lines, no waiting!

The park was so empty, we even had Gaston's Tavern almost all to ourselves!  Can't wait to meet him there!
We stayed out until about midnight, so thankfully, today I have a day off!  My first scheduled day off, today, and tomorrow!  I've spent the majority of today in the apartment, organizing after this whirlwind of a week, cleaning, doing laundry, and taking it easy.  I have plans tonight to head to Epcot this evening (my half birthday!), to see Illuminations, if the weather holds up.  And tomorrow, I'm tentatively heading to one of the Disney water parks, either Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, since we apparently get free admission there now too!
Saturday, I start my first day of on the job training at Old Key West!  So exciting, and hoping to be well rested for it!
